2024-02-18. Back in the air three months after dislocating my shoulder, and the day was mostly spent proving I could still do things I had already been signed off for.
The dropzone was packed with tandems. I assume lunar new year.
First, a long refresher to go through the basics again. The landing area is narrower now. 2,500 baht.
Second, AFF levels 4 to 7 again, compressed into one jump, to confirm I could survive: 90, 180 and 360 degree turns, roll and recover. 8,300 baht.
Then two hop and pops at 5,500 feet, because my exits were unstable.
Landings still are not good on the Nav 240. If I can get comfortable on the Nav 220 this trip, I can move to my own rig with the Saber 3 210 next trip.
The feedback was that I am fighting the wind, so I am wobbly. I recognize the fighting. It is the same thing I came to this sport to get rid of - the reason I keep jumping is to make myself relax.
Specifically: arms too wide, not looking up, which would help me arch, legs not straight enough, not relaxed enough.
I would call myself 50 percent relaxed, physically and mentally, with less of work on my mind than last time. A night of sleep should help.
